  • Four years experience teaching AQA, three of which in an OFSTED outstanding Grammar school.

    Six + years tutoring the AQA, Edexcel and OCR specifications to students all over the UK.

    As a teacher I have an in-depth understanding of the specification and expectations of the examinar - both are critical to sucessfully support students in developing their understanding, scientific skills and exam technique.

    Experienced in supporting students struggling to meet their target and those wanting to unlock the A/A*.

    Students I tutored in 2021-22 have improved from a C to an A, D to an A and from failing to attaining places at their first choice universities (Cambridge/Plymouth/Lancaster).

    I have an `exam technique` focussed approach to ensure together we are improving the students ability to answer any question under pressure and making a positive impact long-term.

  • I graduated in 2017 from the University of Leeds with a 2:1 Biology BSc with honours and from Edge Hill with a Secondary Science PGCE with QTS in 2018.

  • Online tutition allows student’s to spend less time travelling to and from lessons and more time committed to improving their grade.

    The whiteboard we annotate and questions we complete are saved into a Google Drive folder after each lesson.

    No more misplaced paper copies and disorganised ring binders!

    • Using Google meet

    • Within the Google meeting we can access a Jamboard which is an interactive whiteboard that can be annotated by both the student and I. This allows me to give both verbal and written feedback.

    • Past paper questions are completed within the lesson on Google Docs. The document can be annotated by both the student and I. Again, allowing me to give both written and verbal feedback on the student’s answers.

    • Questions that haven’t been completed within the lesson are often given as homework due in the next lesson. Allowing students to independently assess their understanding without my support. This allows me to target gaps in understanding/skill .

    • The feedback on this system has been wholly positive from students.

    • Students have 24/7 access to their Google Drive folder where the jamboards and Google Docs are saved to. The Google folder is organised into Topic folders for ease of access for revision purposes.
